You have come to the right place. We know that it can be overwhelming and darn near impossible to narrow down 3-5 colors to represent your brand from all of the millions of colors out there.
Trust us - it is even hard for us and WE are designers.
But here is the good news...because we are designers, we have some tips and tricks to help make the selection easier for you. Here are two of our favorites...
Tip #1: Step into your closet to find your Branding
If you have a business or a brand that you want to reflect YOU, then start with colors that you like. And if you are having a hard time deciding what your favorite colors are, then simply walk into your closet. Think about it, we tend to wear clothes that make us feel good and confident in styles and colors that we like—even if we don't realize we are doing that.
So here is what you do...
Walk into your closet
Squint your eyes and make not of what color you see the most of
This will be your primary brand color
Next, see what other colors pop.
These will be your secondary and tertiary brand colors
Once you have 3 colors that have popped from your closet, hop into Pintrest and search "color palettes using color 1, color 2 and color 3"
Now you have a starting point to help narrow down your search for your perfect Brand colors.
Example:
I walked into my closet and quickly noticed that my top 3 wardrobe colors are Black, Denim and Blush (the only surprise was the Blush).
And this is the magic I got when I popped this into Pinterest...
From here it was so much easier to narrow down and choose my brand colors that turned into this:

Tip #2: Start with your favorite photo
If your clothes and your closet are doing it for you, or you want your branding colors to be separate from you, here is another helpful and easy way to choose.
Select a favorite photo - one that represents your business, envokes the feeling of your brand or simply inspires you.
Then pop that photo into Canva and use the color picker to select hero colors from that photo.
That's it. Super simple. Easy peasy.
